Levels set in above-ground have less objects relative to levels set in underground and castle and is easier.
In underground levels, a route for a goal is complicated like a maze.
You may have to beat a boss at the end of castle levels. For example, Bowser is defeated by Mario at the end of a castle level in an official gameplay video.
