Red coin is more valuable than yellow coin. You will find only 5 red coins in each levels.
Red coins can be found on the ground or in the air along with regular coins.
Even though not all the ways to use is revealed, one of is confirmed. When you get a red coin in a Toad Rally, a Toad shows up at the bottom of the screen.
